Schaefer was once again entrusted with renovations at 3rd Avenue Baptist Church, enhancing key areas of the facility while maintaining uninterrupted church operations. The Phase 2 renovation focused on the South Education Building Lower Level, where 4,272 square feet were demolished and reconfigured to create a versatile open space for large events and activities. An operable partition wall was installed to allow for flexible configurations, accommodating smaller meetings and additional classroom areas. The project also included renovations to the sanctuary and stage, upgrading both to improve functionality and aesthetics while preserving the church’s character.
Additional work involved increasing restroom capacity and modernizing administrative spaces to better support church operations. The South Education Building’s roof was fully replaced, covering 9,400 square feet, to enhance structural integrity and longevity. The project also encompassed various general contracting and infrastructure upgrades throughout the facility, improving usability and functionality. Schaefer’s expertise in occupied renovations ensured a seamless transformation, allowing the church to continue its mission while benefiting from modernized, functional spaces.
