TECO Big Bend CM Building

As part of an extensive expansion of Tampa Electric Company’s Big Bend Power Plant, Schaefer delivered the construction of a new 28,000 SF office facility that was built to house approximately 78 of the staff personnel that were consolidated from the existing space. Delivered design-build, the new construction involved tilt wall slabs for the exterior structure and included the construction of new office space, assembly rooms, classroom space, flex spaces and bathrooms. The design and construction team collaborated on the integrated technology within the space to equip TECO’s teams with the relevant state of the art technology systems required for this facility. Initial designs began in May 2019 with construction completed in 2021.
